Every year, James St transforms into a culinary haven during the last weekend of July, thanks to the James St Food + Wine Trail (JSFWT).

Since its inception in 2011, this event has showcased the remarkable restaurants, bars, cafes, and providers that make up James St’s vibrant foodie scene. This year, JSFWT promises an unforgettable experience from Saturday, the 27th of July to Sunday, the 28th of July, with in-venue events, special menus, and a grand Market Day celebration.

Trail Day: Exclusive Tastings and Special Menus

Saturday, the 27th of July will kick off the festivities with Trail Day, where you can stroll down James St and indulge in exclusive tastings and limited-edition eats. Each participating venue offers unique ticketed events and special menus, allowing you to sample the diverse culinary delights that James St is renowned for. Whether you’re a fan of Greek cuisine at Hellenika, Thai dishes at sAme sAme, or the moody ambiance at ESSA, there’s something to tantalise every palate.

Market Day: A Culinary Extravaganza

Sunday, the 28th of July, sees James St closed to traffic and transformed into an open-air foodie market. Market Day is a free-entry event that features 39 stalls, the most in the event’s 12-year history. With over 25,000 people expected to attend, this 7500-square-metre space will be buzzing with food enthusiasts. Enjoy live music, children’s activities, and an array of dishes from leading cafes, bars, and restaurants. From Gelato Messina’s sweet treats to live tuna carving at Sushi Room, the offerings are sure to impress.

Must-Try Highlights and Newcomers

JSFWT 2024 introduces several exciting new participants, including ēmmē, Agnes Bakery, and James & Antler. On Saturday, enjoy a four-course champagne lunch at ESSA, an aperitivo hour at The Calile's Lobby Bar, or a Middle Eastern-inspired dinner at ēmmē. On Sunday, don’t miss Jocelyn's Provisions’ special desserts or Gelato Messina’s limited-edition creations.
