BrisAsia Festival: A Citywide Celebration

When: Friday, January 31–Sunday, February 9
Where: Multiple venues across Brisbane

BrisAsia Festival is back, marking its 13th year with ten days of cultural festivities. Featuring over 25 events, this year’s programme includes street food celebrations in South Brisbane’s Fish Lane, K-pop performances, and breathtaking showcases like Lunar New Year in the Gar-dens at Mt Coot-tha.

New in 2025, the Mt Coot-tha event offers martial arts displays, street food, and traditional music performances. Don’t miss the Asian street festival Lush, where Southside Restaurant and other favourites will serve up delicious bites. Other highlights include BrisAsia Stands Up, showcasing Brisbane’s Asian Australian comedians, and a stunning performance by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra at QPAC on February 16.

With so many events across the city, BrisAsia is the perfect way to embrace the spirit of Lunar New Year.

Sunnybank Lunar New Year Rooftop Party

When: Saturday, February 8, 5–8:30pm
Where: Rooftop of Hoyts Cinema Carpark, Sunnybank Plaza

Celebrate Lunar New Year from new heights at the Sunnybank Lunar New Year Rooftop Party. This lively event combines live music, dragon and lion dances, and an abundance of delicious eats from Sunnybank Plaza’s renowned eateries.

Enjoy the festive atmosphere as the rooftop transforms into a traditional lantern festival. With past highlights including tea ceremonies and calligraphy, this year promises even more cultural delights. Don’t miss the dazzling fireworks finale at 8pm. Entry is free but bring your appetite!
